Atheer, the company pioneering the new AiR™ (Augmented interactive Reality™) computing platform, has announced some major partnerships and acquisitions this week.
Yesterday, we received a press release announcing that Atheer has made an agreement to acquire ONtheGO Platforms. ONtheGO is the provider of Ari™, a gesture recognition software that turns any mobile device with a standard camera into a gesture interface. This purchase will give Atheer AiR™ smart glasses platform, which is primarily targeted for enterprise, the ability to have gesture control, in addition to voice control and motion capture.
Atheer also announced a partnership with TeamViewer, a global provider of remote control and online collaboration software. TeamViewer also launched TeamViewer 11, the first solution to provide easy and uncomplicated access to unattended Android devices, which will play a critical role in managing devices that don’t have conventional screens.
Atheer seems to be positioning it’s Android based AIR platform to give Google Glass a run for it’s money. With the purchase of ONtheGo, Atheer will be adding a number of patents to it’s portfolio which will help them to better position as leaders in the enterprise head worn wearable market.
