GDC has announced VRDC 2016, a standalone virtual reality developer’s conference to take place in San Francisco along side of the normal GDC conference in 2016.
According to the GDC website:
“The inaugural VRDC will take place on the Monday and Tuesday of GDC (March 14th & 15th, 2016), and passes to attend in will also allow entrance to the main Game Developers Conference Expo floor from March 16th-18th, where many of VR’s biggest names will be showcasing their latest technology. (VRDC will also be open to all GDC 2016 pass holders who have purchased a Summits or All-Access Pass.)”
The call for submissions runs from. September 8th – October 2nd, and given the timing of the event in Q1, the conference would be the perfect opportunity for a potential Oculus Rift launch date, so expect a LOT of buzz about that date.
We will post more info as it comes in.
