To coincide with tomorrow’s preorder opening for the Rift, Oculus announced today that they will be giving away free “Kickstarter Limited Edition” versions of the Rift to early DK1 Kickstarter supporters.

Below, Oculus CEOs Palmer Luckey, Brendan Iribe & VP of Product Nate Mitchell appear in a special video to make the announcement as a way to say thanks to all the early supporters of the first funding round for the Oculus DK1 development kit in 2012. A thank you letter was also posted on the Oculus website.

Mad props to Oculus for paying such huge respect to it’s early supporters. For those of us who weren’t lucky enough to get in on this sweet deal, we will have to hang on until Jan 6 at 08:00 PST to get in on the Oculus Preorder. No price has been announced yet, but we will be following the story as it develops.
